The Simplicity of It All

I first heard about Function of Beauty through a girl I follow on Youtube, Weylie from WahlieTV. I loved the idea behind is and customizing your own shampoo. To be honest I kind of forgot about it because I had just bought new shampoo and treatments for my hair. Needless to say it popped up again and I hoped on it. The site is super easy to use and it’s so quick to sign up and get your order ready.

First off you take a super easy hair quiz. It asks you questions for your hair type and what goals you want to achieve with your hair. Next you’re able to choose the fragrance and colour for each. You can even choose how strong you want your scent to be. Each shampoo and conditioner is formulated perfectly just for you. It even comes with your name on it!

The process is super easy and it feels that much more personal. The last step is choosing what size you’d like to order. You’re able to choose from an 8oz bottle or a 16oz bottle for both or individually or mix and match. As well you choose how frequent you want your order. There are presets of 1, 3 or 6 months or you can personalize your frequency. You can easily change your order every time too and it’s free to cancel your subscription with no fee.

As a helpful bonus, your order comes complete with free pumps for and colourful stickers to decorate your bottles. You also get a pamphlet explaining the use of each product, your profile and a description of your hair goals.

Why I chose Function of Beauty

I chose to use Function of Beauty because I wanted something new and simple. I wanted to start using cruelty free and vegan products as much as I could. Not to mention the package is super and cute and the set up of ordering your products is really user friendly (I can’t stress enough how simple it is LOL). The customization of the products i.e. the colour and fragrances make it fun and even more welcoming. The fact that there is no strings attached for having a subscription and being able to change or cancel it at any time. It makes you wander…why can’t everything be this simple?

My 5 hair goals were to deep condition, replenish hair, strengthen, hydrate & add shine. I chose the fragrance all (you)calyptus (which is 100% natural) and my shampoo is pink in colour while leaving my conditioner dye free. As well I chose to have my fragrance strong because I wanted the full effect.

I’ve been using these products for about 2 months now. I wanted to truly see how I enjoyed them before writing my review. The results for me are amazing. I love the pump system. It helps you limit your use of the product. I have long, medium bodied hair and use about 4-5 pumps of shampoo and 2-3 pumps of conditioner. The products have left my hair silky and smooth. My hair feels light and movable. It looks natural and not overly shiny as if it were fake. Previous to using the Function of Beauty products, I was experiencing some hair loss and since using Function of Beauty it has helped reduce that. My only thing is that my ends aren’t where I’d like them to be but I think it’s actually just time for me to get a hair trim - Previous to this I was almost all blonde and I had coloured my hair back to brown so my hair is probably just fried. Plus it’s been 7 months since my last trim.
