Roasted Cauliflower

Roasted cauliflower is a new item on the menu in our house. It’s so easy to make and takes about 30 minutes to roast. It’s a nice, different alternative to other side dishes. I love having mine with a steak or chicken. It’s nice and light so you don’t feel too heavy after eating it. I’m not a huge fan of raw cauliflower but roasted cauliflower is simply amazing.

How To:

Set oven to 400 ℉

Cut up your cauliflower into bite size pieces. If the piece looks to big, cut it into thirds or quarters. If you keep them too big, they may not cook thoroughly along with the rest fo the group. Put the pieces into a strainer to wash them - just give them a little sprinkle of water to wash any dirt, chemicals and germs off them.

Have a small/medium sized baking sheet ready with foil or parchment paper on it. Lay out the cauliflower pieces on the sheet and spread them out.

Drizzle olive oil all over the pieces. Sprinkle garlic powder, parsley, salt and pepper to your liking. I like to put a generous amount of garlic powder on. Grate your parmesan cheese and generously sprinkle that all over. Mix the cauliflower pieces around to distribute the seasonings, cheese and oil. You can feel free to touch it up with any oil or seasonings if it looks like it needs some.

Through it in the oven for 20 minutes. Once the 20 minutes is up, take it out of the oven and give your cauliflower pieces a turn over. Add more grated parmesan cheese to your liking or extra seasoning. Your oil should be fine but feel free to add some if it looks dry. Put the cauliflower back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
